How To Change Dial-Up Phone Number

New Number is: 0198 333 836

Windows XP

1. Click on the Start button.
2. Click on Control Panel (you may need to go to settings, then click onto control panel)
3. In the Control Panel, double click on network connections.
4. Locate your Acenet connection and right click on it ONCE, then left click on properties.
5. If the telephone number is listed in the telephone number field is 0198 331301, remove it and put in 0198 333 836. (if you already have the 0198 333 836 number entered, skip to the next step)
6. Then click on the ok button at the bottom.

Windows 2000

1. Click on the Start button.
2. Then go up to settings, and click on settings Control Panel.
3. In Control Panel, double click on Network and Dialup Connections.
4. Locate your Acenet connection and right click on it ONCE, then left click on properties.
5. If the telephone number is listed in the telephone number field is 0198 331301, remove it and put in 0198 333 836. (if you already have the 0198 333 836 number entered, skip to the next step)
6. Then click on the ok button at the bottom.

Windows 95/98

1. Double click on the My Computer icon (remember that you may have renamed it to something else, such as "Fred's Cool PC".)
2. Double click on the Dial-Up Networking folder.
3. In the window that appears, find the icon for your Acenet connection and click ONCE on this icon with the left mouse button.
4. Go to the File menu and select Properties .
5. In the Telephone number field, enter the new phone number.
6. Adjust the Area code and/or country code if you are dialling in from outside the state.
7. If you are dialling from inside the state, make sure that the Use country and area code when dialling option is disabled!
8. Click on OK.
9. Close the windows.

Mac OS X

1. At Desktop level, click on the System Preferences from the Apple menu (by pressing the apple icon on keyboard).
2. In the System Preferences window that appears, click on the Network icon to display its options.
3. Select Internal Modem from the Show dropdown menu.
4. With the TCP/IP tab selected, select Using PPP from the Configure dropdown menu.
5. With the PPP tab selected, enter the new dialup number 0198 333 836 in the Telephone Number box.
6. Click on Apply Now button.

For earlier Mac OS versions

1. At Desktop level, click on the Control Panel from the Apple menu (by pressing the apple icon on keyboard).
2. Open Remote Access or PPP in the list.
3. Delete the telephone number in the Number box and enter the new dial number 0198 333 836
4. Click on the Connect or Done button.

MacPPP

1. Go to the Apple Menu and select Control Panels .
2. Open the ConfigPPP control panel.
3. Make sure your Acenet connection is selected down the bottom.
4. Click on the Config button.
5. Change the contents of the Phone number field to the new phone number, 0198 333 836.
6. Click on Done.
7. Close the ConfigPPP control panel and the Control Panels window.

FreePPP

1. Go to the FreePPP menu (a little telephone icon at the right hand side of your menu bar) and select Open FreePPP Setup...
2. Look for a small right pointing arrow on the left hand side of the dialog box.
3. Click on the arrow and a section should open up below the dialog box.
4. Three tabs will be displayed across the top of this section :

6. Accounts
7. Locations
8. Click on the Accounts tab.
9. Select (click once) on the entry for your Acenet account.
10. Click on the Edit button.
11. Change the value in the Phone number field to the new number, 0198 333 836.
12. Click on OK.
13. Close the setup.

Open Transport PPP

1. Go to the Apple Menu and select Control Panels.
2. Open the PPP control panel.
3. Change the value in the Number: field to new number, 0198 333 836.
4. If you have more than one Acenet configuration, go to the File Menu and select Configurations.
5. Click on Save, if necessary to save changes to previous configuration.
6. Highlight another configuration and click on Make Active.
7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 for each Acenet dialin configuration.
8. Close the PPP control panel and the Control Panels window.
