AirStream Technical Details
The AirStream system is designed to offer broadband access to a wide range of customers.
The heart of each system is the Base Station (BS), which provides radio access for the Subscriber Terminals (ST) deployed at the end users' location. The BS connects straight back to the fibre-optic network at our data centre.
AirStream supports two main types of STs; a split version comprising of a compact outdoor unit and an indoor unit and an all-in-one indoor unit. The ST that each user requires will be determined upon initial testing of signal strength at the customer's premises.
The AirStream ST is installed to incorporate a high-quality VoIP solution, allowing customers literally to do away with their existing landline (saving the monthly phone line rental) and making all their phone calls via a VoIP phone over the AirStream connection. Virtual fax technology will soon be available meaning that the customer can also send and receive faxes over the wireless connection.
AirStream is controlled by a network management platform (WipManage) which is used to remotely manage all aspects of the system allowing us total control over the network.
