BURROWA NEWS - AUGUST T 1910

DEATH OF MR. H. WILSON

On Tuesday 9th inst. the sad news reached town concerning the death of Mr. Henry Wilson, who died at his residence on the previous night. The deceased had been an inmate of the local hospital suffering from an internal complaint and had left that institution on the previous Saturday in the hopes of journeying to Sydney to receive medical advice. These hopes however were never to be realised, for on returning home he took a bad change and expired suddenly, the news of his death coming as a great shock to our town and district. The late Mr Wilson was the second eldest son of the late Mr. George Wilson of Rye Park and was 54 years of age. He was twice married, being married when he was only 19 to Miss Betty Gorham, daughter of the late Mr. Gorham of Grassy Creek. In 1882 his wife died leaving a family of 5 one daughter and four sons. About two years later he again married taking as his second wife Miss Dowling, daughter of the late Mr. Dowling, Hotel Keeper of Dalton who outlives him, together with a family of eleven, six sons and five daughters.  The deceased had lived in the vicinity of Rye Park all his 1ife being engaged in farming pursuits. He was a good, honest, conscientious and industrious man and greatly respected by all his friends and acquaintances. Besides leaving a wife and family, there are also two brothers and one sister Mr. William Wilson of Wellington, Mr. John Wilson of Junee and Mrs. Veness of Sydney. The funeral took place on Wednesday 10th inst. to the Rye Park Cemetery and was largely attended. The Rev. G.P. Metcalfe officiated at the grave and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs. G, Patterson and Son of Burrowa. We tender our heartfelt sympathy to the relatives of the deceased.
